SUMMARY:Good Trouble Lives On
DESCRIPTION:This July 17th\, we will march\, not for what this country claims to be\, but for what it can and must become. \nWe will honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis\, who showed us that freedom is never handed to those who remain silent\, but it is won through direct\, peaceful acts of good trouble. We will march side by side because civil rights are under attack\, because executive overreach is choking the lives and futures of our communities\, especially those already pushed to the margins. We will march because silence is no longer an option. \nThis is how we win: by showing up for each other\, standing together in the streets\, and moving in solidarity toward justice. \nBring your loved ones. Bring your courage. Stand with us as we show the world that the fight for justice did not end with John Lewis\, it lives on through us. Get ready to make Good Trouble. \nEvent Program\nWe will be joined by a coalition of speakers including Rep. Al Green (US Representative)\, Rev. Thomas Bowen (Shiloh Baptist Church)\, and Demetria McCain (NAACP LDF)\, and musicians including Freedom Futures Collective and the DC Labor Chorus. The rally will begin at 5:30pm at Franklin Park\, followed by a march through downtown DC at approximately 7:00–7:30 PM through Black Lives Matter Plaza\, ending at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. \nSong Lyrics\nView the lyrics for songs and chants for the program\, hosted by the Liberty Project. \nLivestream\nThe rally will be accessible via livestream at tinyurl.com/GoodTroubleLive in partnership with Jessica Denson of Lights On and Fourteenth Now. \nAccessibility\nWe are committed to making this event accessible to all attendees. There will be designated accessibility seating available near the stage. Additionally\, ASL interpreters will be present during the rally to ensure full participation for members of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. \nDonate\nPlease consider donating to help fund equipment and supplies to make this event reliable and effective for all. Every contribution is greatly appreciated and helps us provide you the best experience possible! \nShare Your Photos\nUpload photos and videos from the event and share your memories with us!
