Coming off a historic day where an estimated 5.2 million of you showed up to join us to declare that We the People reject the Trump/Musk administration’s war on our freedoms and future, the 50501 movement declared Saturday, April 19th a nationwide day of action! Across the US people not only protested, they also organized food drives, volunteered at shelters, hosted teach-ins, and found other creative ways to show up for their communities and push back against this administration. 50501 remains committed to protesting and making our voices heard. We know continued mobilization requires continual aid.

50501 DC proudly hosted a vital part of the April 5th protests, but fighting against tyranny requires more than just protests and rallies. The current administration has been gutting social safety nets, decimating Social Security, Medicaid, and other invaluable programs while also threatening DC’s home rule. This has left thousands in the nation’s capital more vulnerable. For this reason, 50501 DC chose to look inwards for the April 19th Day of Action and help the most vulnerable in the community.

We are so incredibly proud of our DC community! While 50501 DC is helping lead the charge against this oppressive administration, it’s the power of the people that makes everything possible. Efforts like this ensure our family and friends are safe and secure so we can focus on future protests. We were incredibly moved by all the love and support we received and can’t wait to see everyone on May 1st!
